Hi all, I know the 135M is clearly the faster graphics card, but after reading thread after thread of driver problems, display / computer crashes (such as http://forum.notebookreview.com/archive/index.php/t-141301.html), I'm hoping someone can let me know if my usage will even benefit from the 135M ...

I will be running XP and will use the notebook mainly for website development and editing large photos in CS3. There will be no video editing of any kind, or any sort of gaming for that matter. The most taxing video work the notebook will need to tackle is to play downloaded DivX movies (not 720p) and of course run the usual flash animation rubbish on websites.

Are the current 135M drivers stable ? Do I even need to 135M ?

I've also been looking at the Studio 15 with its ATI HD3450, which I think suits my needs better (and isn't exposed to the recent Nvidia problems), but I need XP for my work, and the Lattitude series is the only one that still comes with XP factory-installed (in Dell Hong Kong anyway).

Any suggestions will be very much appreciated.

My X3100 equipped D630 should be arriving on Monday. As you can see from the tagline, I have a Quadro 140M -- and its drivers have been kind of flakey. So we'll see... I'll post a reply with my thoughts if you're interested.

marcuslai, the Intel card (X3100) will handle everything you want it to (according to your post), so from my point of view there is no need for you to get the dedicated nVidia card (135M).

Go with the X3100 as it's power consumption is lower and you won't need the extra 3D performance for serious office work and development anyway.
