D620 Battery problem

    Obviously the computer thinks the battery is quite ok. 45088 mWh is not bad for a used battery.

    A Dell technician should be able to diagnose the problem but what if the problem is the battery itself? Are you sure you are not going to have to pay for the technician in that case? I don't the warranty for the battery is longer than 12 months.

    Thanks Orjan, the battery also appears to think that it is alright as it only shows 1 degredation light.
    No worries about the Dell tech as they have to replace a dead speaker as well.

    Hi John & Orjan,
    Update on my battery - Dell engineer was as convinced as I was that the Battery was good so replaced my MotherBoard!!!. It looked like it was charging OK and he wasn't hanging around to check. Bottom line was that it didn't help so I will get a new battery, but at least I got a new motherboard out of it so I'm not complaining at all.
    Thanks for your help guys, I will be posting again later today/tomorrow asking advice about partitioning my Hard Drive.
