D600 & D820 Touchup Paint?

    I purchased a used Dell D600 last week to replace my Inspiron 8000 at work. The D600 is a revision 4 and does not seem to have the hot palm rest like so many D600 models do. It is working very well so far and has passed Memtest and Prime95 testing. The lid has no dents, but it does have a lot of small chips. Has anybody here been able to match the color of the Dell D series notebooks. I have tested it with Silver and Medium Grey and neither one of those are close. I would hate to go to auto parts store and buy everything that looks somewhat close.

    How much is the paint? You can probably find a new cover on eBay for around $30.
