I have a newly acquired Latitude D520, it's the duo core model with the Dell WLAN 1490 wireless card running XP. I have noticed a problem when playing or streaming audio on the machine that involves intermittent glitches. I have googled extensively and now know that the problem is related to the wireless card. I have confirmed that when I disable the card in Device manager that the problem is completely corrected. I am aware of the huge firewire thread here and suspect the problems there may be related to mine however I am not trying to do anything particularly advanced in the audio department. Presently I am unable to listen to either streaming music or Mp3s that reside on my machine while connected via my wireless card without annoying glitches every 30 or 40 seconds.

I would like to know if there is anyway to correct this, I am currently looking into replacements for the 1490 card but am not sure about compatibility or even if it will solve the problem if there are no compatibility issues.

Thanks in advance for any ihelpful information anyone may have.

    David

    David,

I have a similar problem, but not related to the Wifi Adapter I think...
Some days ago, my D520 woke up without the problem... but some days after, it returned... I did not get to track the problem and what is happening...
Please, contact me @ icaro911 [at] msn.com. Let's try to figure it out...
