What machine do you have? I have trouble imagining any situation besides a quad-core which would cause me to think this machine was running hot, and I always use my laptop on my lap or on my couch. It just doesn't get hot.

I have one on the way for my M4400,I like the way it clips on and doesn't add much size [1/4"].....hope it works well.......at least you don't have to worry about blocking the fan vent underneath.

My E6500 doesn't get hot as such, but the air from the side fan vent is much warmer when the laptop is sitting on a soft surface than on a desk.

Couldn't find it on the NZ or Australian website so gave them the part number off this page.....still was a hassle, and had to talk to a supervisor to get somewhere.

It should be effective for me as I use it mostly on my lap,and I'm always accidently covering the fan vent because its in such a dumb place [right where your leg wants to be]

I've also noticed that the notebook stays cooler if its not sitting on your legs,or if you move it every few minutes to a cool place on the bed or whatever,I guess a certain amount of heat is dissapated by passive means through the bottom access panel.

I will let you know either here or in the M4400 owners thread when I get it and use it for a bit.....might even take some of my famous phone pics:rolleyes: :D
