Like to get some opinions on this. Been a long time Dell user (since 1995). Mostly Latitudes. Had an XPS-13 for a bit. Got tired of the lack of ports (Ethernet in particular and my forgetting the adapter) and the webcam placement - awkward!

Currently have a 7270 that I purchased in the outlet store. Not a bad performer, but have that itch for an upgrade/change.

I've eyed the X1 Carbon for a while. Reviews rave about the keyboard. It seems like for a just slightly larger form factor - I go from a 12.5" screen to 14" on the X1.

Price - eye popping on the X1. However - might be worth it to me, not sure. Seen a few negatives about the fan noise - my 7270 is all over the place with a noisy fan...

    Thanks for feedback!

I'm in the same boat. Last I heard the fan noise issue has been fixed with a BIOS update. The X1 has the big plus of having a usable keyboard, with dedicated Home/End keys and such, and no useless touchscreen.
