Connect AC while on battery?

    is this really important? [​IMG] I'm using laptop from 10 months and I never did anything like this. Just turn on and use and nothing bad happen... I hope

    Battery wear isn't recharge memory. As you continually cycle through charges and as the battery gets older it has less capacity.

    Ok, how about the other way around. Can you safely remove or install the battery while on AC power?

    In fact you can probably change out the battery if you have an extra if you put the laptop in standby... and you do it fast enough. Like maybe, 30 seconds or less? Not that I'm recommending that, but I think it's possible (because of capacitors).

    That won't work, as soon as you remove the power source the notebook would die.

    Well yes, except I think if it's in standby mode, the capacitors on the motherboard (I think that... maybe somewhere else) would be able to keep it alive long enough for you to change the battery.

    Here... from my 1501 manual:
    I've never actually tried it. This thread asks if such a thing is possible, and the general answer is no. However, one poster has successfully done it before.

    So... hmmm.
