Configuring an M6400 online

    Ok, just checked. My M6400 doesn't have those fast Kingston modules. :(

    It's equipped with Qimonda, IMSH2GS13A1F1C-10F. CL7-7-7-7

    Here in Germany it's about 50 euros for one module.

    I didn't see mention of one important difference. The Covet can only be configured with the E2E screen, which is a matte screen with a plate of glass over it. i.e. if you want to work without reflections, you cannot do so on a Covet.

    The Covet also does not let you configure the cheapest hard drive, so if you have your own hard drive you want to swap in, you cannot save that cash.

    Apart from configuration issues the Covet is the same system as the M6400.


    BTW you can get 8GB 2x4GB RAM kits from Newegg now for $750 which is well below the typical upgrade asking price. You could put two of those sets in for 16GB at $1500.

    Those are DDR2 modules though. What type of module does the M6400 take?

    Will the Dell M6400 allow those timings then? The BIOS will take them?
