    Yeah, that is unfortunate. My M6300 works like a charm because it has the UPEK biometrics. I'm still hoping that Broadcom will join in on the fun and produce a driver that fully supports the Windows 7 biometrics.

    "MS introduced Windows Biometric Framework in win7 and the initial participants in it's development were UPEK and AuthenTec . Until/if Broadcom joins in - we won't see native support for their fingerprint readers."

    werid my finger print reader and everything works fine with wondows 7

    well for one windows 7 is still beta so it probaly wont have full support until the full windows 7 in released

    I actually use BT so it's not useless for me but i like to be able to configure as much as i can...which is not really an option on the mbp's.

    You must be using Dell's ControlPoint software, which is actually Wave's security suite. Yes, that should work, but it doesn't offer much functionality, to say the least... Definitely, Windows 7 does not natively support or even recognize the fingerprint reader in the M6400. Neither does any other third-party software, some of which offers much better functionality than the stuff Dell gives us.
