    HI Folks,

The charger for my Dell Precision M6300 has stopped working all of a sudden.

I haven't dropped it or anything, just doesn't seem to want to work.

My laptop charges fine if I plug it into a docking station.

    Any ideas folks?

The charger is probably dead but the only way to be sure is to use a multi-meter to check the output. While the electronic PSUs are fairly tolerant of input power fluctuations, something may have blown it.

There is also the possibility that the cable is damaged. How old is it and do you tightly wrap the cable around the brick?

Most important, is it still under warranty? If so, ask Dell for a replacement and don't worry about why it died.

I think that's is a likely reason, it has happened to me several times.
