    Hello,

So I have been battling with this issue for a few days, but I have just reverted to factory image to simplify the whole thing.

Basically, windows 8.1 does not appear in the store. I can update all the windows updates, then refresh the store, and still windows 8.1 does not appear in the store.

If I reinstall using the Windows media disk (which warns me that it isn't compatible with the platform, but Dell says that is normal) then upgrade all the drivers, then it does appear - but that brings on a slew of different problems like an inability for Dells system detect to work, some difficulty installing programs unless I screw with it, etc, which to me feels like an unhealthy computer that I don't want to deal with. Hence I reverted to factory image.

    Any thoughts?

You need a specific update from windows update. Go to windows update and install the following update and restart: KB2871389

After that, it should be in the store. I have gone through this twice on two computers. Really sucks how we have to get that update first to install 8.1.

If that doesn't work, open a run command. Run the following command: wsreset.exe
