One of the things that bugs me is the scroll down/up-swipe function; it doesnt allow for constant scrolling. Meaning, in most of the other laptops ive owned you would run your finger down the right side of the pad, the page would scroll but if you held your finger in the corner, the page would keep scrolling. On the Dells you have to keep swiping down to get to the bottom of the page (or use the circular scrolling motion).
    Any way to remedy this?

Also, can I assign the three buttons ON TOP of the touch pad to different functions than the bottom ones? Id like for these top two to be page forward/back buttons as I cant seem to get the "page swipe" to work in Firefox (yes, I have turned the function on in the registry).

You can do continuous scrolling with the middle touch-stick button and the touchstick.

I don't think there's any setting that will let you do continuous scrolling with the touchpad... but there is an option for "circular scrolling" if you're interested. If you can find another ALPS touchpad driver from another OEM that DOES support continuous scrolling, you could try to install it and see how it goes?
