Looking to get a Vostro 1540 for my mom's business. For the same specs the one loaded with Ubuntu is 30 bucks less than the Windows 7 home premium.
I have a copy of Win 7 Ultimate and will be clean installing that either way, so looking to save a bit of money there...Does anyone know if it will be hassle free or will there be any problems or bios issues or anything like that?

If you have your own key and everything there shouldn't be a problem.

No, you can only legally use a windows key on one computer at a time.

Its a much more cost effective method to buy them with Windows on them, provided they come with the version you plan on running.

Small remark. This just means, that Windows 7 OEM is cheaper compared to Windows 7 Retail. (but in many cases you can buy OEM version of Windows for existing machine with some hardware, e.g. HDD/SDD)
