I have a secondary hard drive module for my Latitude D610. Can I use this module in Latitude D530/D630/D830?

My module is for a PATA drive and I know there are similar looking modules for SATA drives also. But is the connector the same anyway so you can use an old module in a new D Series Latitude?

You should be able to, that is why it is D-series, everything is supposed to work between them.

Yep. I have a floppy drive from the D600 in a module from my D430 (D/Bay or whatever the heck it's called). As for the FDD, don't ask!

    Great!

If a floppy from D600 fits in a D430 then my HDD module from D610 should definitely fit in D530/D630/D830.

I agree that accessories should be compatible with a laptop series like the D series. On the other hand a DVD unit from a Thinkpad T61 doesn't fit in the new Thinkpad T400 even though the size is exactly the same. The new model requires a DVD with SATA connector that the T61 DVD unit doesn't have.
