I'd say most likely... but if you want to know for sure, try it out :)

In general most of the Vista drivers will work win Server 2008. This is based on my experience install Server 2008 on an AMD 3700. The drivers I could not get to work on my machine were the Marvel Lan NIC (settled with the generic Marvel drivers) and the Realtek audio chipset (its a headless machine so no biggie.)

The only problem with running server 2008 on a laptop,is that if you are using it to run hyper-v virtual machines, you should really have two network cards(not very common on laptops :( )

    Other than that,
Server 2008 runs just as well as vista (on my M6400 it does anyway )

I haven't used Hyper V personally. I figured Hyper V would be like any other virtualization software and just share the network card among all the guest OSes. This would make more sense.

You can get away with only one network card,
But Microsoft highly recommend using at least 2 cards because if you only have one, it has to manage all the network traffic from your hyper v machines as well as all the network i/o to the server itself.

    It's just a recommendation, not a requirement.
