    Update:

My certified refurbished Precision M4700 from a Ebay seller came with a dent at the left bottom corner of the screen, which was more than I could deal with.

Then the computer had a "boot drive" error, which the Ebay seller told me could easily be fixed by a Dell technician. But given the dent, I decided to return the laptop to the Ebay seller and go for a "previously ordered new" M4700 for $130 more; so this should not have any dent or scratches.

For some reason, I can't post photos on here.

And he was selling it as Certified Refurbished?? Had he looked at it before he sent it? Sounds like a literal meaning of Scratch and Dent!

To be fair, the laptop was factory sealed from Dell as described.

And he is giving me a full refund + return shipping, so I will give him another chance with a "previously new"

Sounds like Dell misgraded it. Glad your seller is making it good. There are 3 M4700s on the Outlet site, though none with the higher specs you want, but there are new units popping up occasionally if your Ebay sale doesn't work out. Good luck.

I bought M6700 with IPS from local reseller, it was supposedly "Ordered New" so I gave it a shot as it was my last chance to get IPS screen with 17'.
I checked Windows Logs and it was all true, machine built in April with last turn on on same day in April. Not used untill I bought it (if it's any indicator that machine was really not used).
I got one bad pixel on screen and dead battery, got pretty pissed, was thinking about returning the machine. Called DELL but they advised me to return it to the seller and don't bother.
I decided to keep it, seller changed ownership of NBD to me (took around one week), after it's been done I called DELL saying my screen has bad pixel and dead battery.
They said no problem (before ownership they said I would need to take screenshots of dead pixels, etc.). I'm waiting for technician, supposed to get all things fixed tomorrow :)

So to sum up it's really worth it, but you have to buy from proper source, I guess.

Would you mind posting a picture of your E6530?

I want to know what an average "minor blemish" looks like, as Dell describes it.

    Cheers.

Dell is really good about keeping their customers happy. I had some cosmetic issues with my XPS 14 and they quickly resolved my concerns.

The one next to the VGA jack is tough to see, well worth saving $500+ :).

    Wow, that looks amazing!

Yeah, mine was definitely scratch and dent, not certified refurbished.

I was afraid I was just being OCD, hahaha.

    Thanks for posting the pictures.
