It's probably the same issue. I fixed a friend's 1535 by uninstalling KB958624 in safe mode and then hiding it in Windows Update.

Had a similar problem with my E6400 with Vista SP1 BSOD-ing on every boot (message was something with ci.dll) except in safe mode and got it fixed.
If you have an integrated Creative Webcam (and can live without it), try to boot in safe mode and disable the web cam driver in device manager (do not uninstall it, it will come back automatically). I haven't seen a BSOD since then so I guess the Creative guys f***ed it up.

Hmm I forgot to post about this before but I think I figured out the problem.

If you have Wacom drivers installed, and have removed the tablet PC "features" from Vista, your computer get the blue screen I was getting.

It might only happen in Vista 64. Not sure. But the instant I did those two things after a full reinstall, I got the same blue screen. And my computer was set to not download any updates at the time.

Add me to the list of BSOD victims. I installed Win 7 but would rather be working on non beta since it's for work. I'll give Vista 64 one more shot. Hopefully blocking that update will fix the issue. As for disabling my webcam that's not an option, I use the webcam with skype.

Did you get the BSOD in Windows 7 or Vista? (also, 64?)

Mine was repeatable - if I did all three of these things at once I got a BSOD with error text "IRQL_NOT_EQUAL":

1: Install Wacom drivers (the recent ones off their web site)
2: Remove the Tablet PC features -entirely- by using the feature removal tool (not just unchecking settings)
3: Install the December Windows Updates

i.e. I could have removed the Tablet PC features and installed the Wacom drivers, then BSOD on Windows Update. I could also have Windows Updates and Wacom drivers, and then BSOD as soon as I removed Tablet PC Features.

I hate those features... little blue expanding circles appearing every time I do a paint stroke in Photoshop is not reasonable!

(Also - I was using Vista Ultimate 64.)

BSOD was for Vista 64 Home Premium. I'm going to stick with Win 7 and see how that works out. If it doesn't give me a hard time I think I'll just stick with it rather than try a re-install of Vista 64. If I do go back to Vista, I'll post an update.

Sigh, This was on a brand new XPS 16 on the first day.

Good to hear it wasn't on Windows 7... I have high hopes for that.
