This is the error I get in the blue screen:

Here's what I did. I did a clean install of Windows Vista Ultimate from my DVD. I had Windows Vista Home Basic on it before. This error only shows when I shutdown or restart. If I force the computer off after the error occurs and turn it on again, Windows will load fine. I've already installed the following drivers:
    nVidia Graphics
    Webcam
    Dell Wireless

Anyone have any ideas? I'm desperate. Is this happening to anyone else?

See if switching from AHCI to ATA works. This is in BIOs.

    EEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAAAAAAAA
    I found the solution
    Problem:
When you remove windows vista home basic from Dell Vostro 1500 and install windows vista Ultimate on it a problem would be create.
Each time you restart your windows or shutdown it, after a initial boot stages a blue screen will be shown and the only solution is to turn off your device by power button and turn on again.

    Solution:
Install Windows vista Service pack 1. after completing installation problem is solved and every thing would be OK.
(problem would be occured for the last time in installing SP1 )

    hope to be usefull

You should format your hard drive and again install windows. Your windows has been corrupted.
