Biggest problem with the M6400....

    ....is that with all that RAM, hibernate / resume takes much longer!

    :D


    And - with it being so fast - it is actually as fast to boot scratch as it is to hibernate!

    Vista, I presume, with all that spare RAM filled by SuperFetch.

    I've now got 4GB + XP on my E6400 but hibernation / resume is quick which I have only a few applications open. I still prefer using hibernation / resume since it gets me back to whatever I was doing when I shut down.

    Yes - vista 64.

    I don't mind the slow hibernation - it is now writing 4x as much data as it used to, and takes around 4x as long - which is fair.

    I too prefer to hibernate for the same reason. I have disabled sleep from all the profiles - I have the lappy just go straight to hibernate if I close the lid or whatever - that way it doesn't cook in the briefcase!

    Yeah retrieving all of the data off of the disk and back into RAM is going to take a bit. I know that hibernate isn't that fast on my desktop with 8GB of RAM. Do you have the full 16GB in your M6400?
