I've tried both; I much prefer the WD5000BEVT for minimal noise & heat.
Performance is on par with most 7200rpm drives as well.

I bought the Seagate one (320gb 7200rpm) based on the reviews from Tom's Hardware. Only been using it for 3 days, but it's worked well so far. In a quiet room I can hear it, but it's not audible typically. I don't feel any heat or vibration from it.

I have had two Fujitsu drives and a Seagate and much prefer the Fujitsus - but haven't tried the WD.
There are some great detailed reviews at http://www.silentpcreview.com/article29-page1.html. Very good on acoustics and heat comparisons. My machine was originally fitted with a Fujitsu by Dell and they seemed to make a great choice.

I've just replaced the WD5000BEVT in my E6400 with a Hitachi 500.B which has similar performance but is more power efficient and therefore a better choice for anyone who gives priority to battery run time.
