Does anybody know how much more battery the D430 has, compared to the D630?
    Assuming both with 9 cell.

Can I expect 6h from the D430 U7700 9 cell just with office, without WiFi and low brightness?

    Thanks,

    Maybe this will help:

I wonder if they might use a smaller 9-cell battery in the D430... since that's the only way I can explain the D630 getting more time than the D430. btw I would only use this chart for comparative purposes. On my D630, the way I normally use it, with wifi on and using the internet, bluetooth and a bluetooth mouse, full screen brightness, 7200 rpm HDD, Vista with Aero and sidebar on... I tend to get around 3 hours, or just slightly less than 3 hours before forced hibernation.

I'm sure under the conditions you describe it would be a good deal better. I would expect that the D630 with 9-cell and the usage you described could probably get you about 6 hours. Check out the full reviews on this site though for some battery life reports.

    Yes thanks,

This chart can guive some guidelines.
On the review of the D430, it is mentioned that the battery life under low usage with 6 cell is arround 260 minutes.
Dell say that the 6cell can go up to 300 min and 9cell up to 510 min so, 70% more.
Using this proportion, 260+70% = 442 min or 7.3h, not bad.

    I currenty have a D610 with 6 cell + 6 cell media bay.
My company will change to D630 or D430, Battery life is very important to me, but weight is also. If the D430 can gave me 7.3h under light use, I'll probably go for it.

    Thanks

    Regards,

    I really dont care.

For me, the battery should last as much as possible, I always choose the big capacity.
