    Hi,
i have pretty sensible eyes and at the moment i am in a search of a new 13.3-14.0 laptop.Wrom what i read, most of the recent laptops suffer from this PWM flickering (even the expensive displays). Many people state that this particular display one the E7440, E7450 ( as far as i know, the same one is used on Lenovo Thinkpad T440s and T450S and it is said that it also is absolutely PWM free) - is completely PWM free at all brightness levels. Do you guys have any personal experience/opinoin on the matter?

All laptop displays use a PWM signal to control the brightnes of the LEDs.

That maybe true. But why then some tests report no flickering at all? And others (with the same equipment) report flickering in the realm of KHZ, or HZ and so..?

Just for the record - PWM is only noticeable on 3 lowest levels of brightness. No marks of PWM on 4+ levels (I've checked with 'pencil test' and mobile phone camera).

Sorry to bump such an old thread but this is information I had searched for myself so I'll put it down here.

I noticed no PWM flicker using the 'mobile phone camera' test on either the E5450 with the LG FHD display (LGD046D) or the E7450 AUO FHD display (AUO133D) at any brightness level.
