I need the 1080p screen with great battery life and performance.

So I think I might buy the M4600 again, as I sold it off long time ago. Maybe M4700.

But anyone actually use it on campus? I did before when I had it, but last thing I remember is the weight being pretty heavy. Though the battery life is damn good so I am conflicted.

Just began his undergrad for Mechanical. Trust me, without College, what you carry will weigh more than 6 lbs.

I noticed you mentioned 1080 screen and battery life, but not processing power in your requirements. Is that on purpose? Power is the one big reason to go for a precision.
I use my M4600 for college too and wouldn't need the power for my business major. I like about the precision: it's quality build, next business day support and 3 years warranty, efficient and quiet cooling, expandability.
I DON'T like the weight and bulk of it tho - it does goet heavy.

To be honest: the weight is considerable, and if you don't really need the power: get something else, your back will thank you.

Battery life and 1080p is the require I must have.

I dont need all that graphics power, but I love the precision for its design and formality.

I am still searching for smaller factor laptops that may be like 13 inches, but the ones that have good battery and 1080p have horrendous design.

    Sony Z is just expensive...

I really like our M4600, but I would not rule out Lenovo's T530 and W530 for your needs.

I love the Computer and the Warranty, but did you know the Precision M4600 is made in China, then shipped to you from Lebanon TN? That's what mine says all over the box. Just sayin'

    Yup.

I just like Dell's design. I did not like most of them in the past few years, but yeah.

I guess I will consider the red M4700 once it is available. For now, its between XPS13 and M4700

The ONLY thing they have in common is the good battery life. LOL
