Anyone have URL to Dell's TB15 Dock?

I can't seem to find it at all on Dell's US website. I wonder if they took it down.

    Thanks

I called to order a U2715H monitor and while I was on the phone with them I asked about the thunderbolt dock. He replied that they are working out a few issues with the dock before making them available again for purchase. He said he would shoot me an email when the TB15 are available again.

I had a conversation with a higher-up support rep about the Thunderbolt dock this morning. I was surprised at how quickly my case got escalated, but apparently they're trying to collect all cases relating to the Thunderbolt dock to get a feel for what all of the different problems are.

They've pulled the dock from sale because of the high number of issues related to it. (Might have gleaned some of that from other people's comments on this site.) The engineering team is working on it and the fix will likely come in the form of updated drivers and also a physical revision to the dock. If you are having an issue with the current dock and the physical revision will fix it, they will work to swap it out.

I've had a couple of issues myself in the 24 hours I've spent using the Thunderbolt dock, which is why I opened the case with Dell.
    * On the 5510, with only the dock connected, it complains that only 60W of power is available, even though the dock is supposed to be able to output 130W. (It does not always do this, I have one machine with a stable setup now, but I can't figure out why. If I try a different 5510 with the "working" dock, it complains about power. If I try a different dock with the "working" 5510, it complains about power. But the particular two of them working together do not complain.)
    * Also I've had reports of, when using a USB keyboard attached to the dock, a key "sticking" as in you'll get a longgggggggggggggggggggggg string of repeated characters while typing and you have to hit the key again to make it stop.

On the power issue, the tech suggested that I just plug in the regular power adapter in addition to the dock. Not supposed to be required. After they get the dock situation sorted they may replace docks having this issue.

On the USB issue, the tech said that this is because of a USB "dropping" issue that they have observed and duplicated in the lab. With USB it could manifest itself as your mouse cursor not responding for some period of time, or in this case the keyboard "key up" event being missed (system thinks you are still holding the key down after you let go), or any number of other strange things. He recommended trying the stock Microsoft USB drivers instead of the AS Media drivers posted on Dell's site as a possible solution. I updated the machine to use the generic Microsoft USB drivers and we'll see how that goes.

He also mentioned that they've had issues with the Ethernet dropping and with the displays dropping, neither or which I have observed myself.

It's not all bad. He mentioned that in a number of cases things work out completely fine. However, the problem ratio is too high to ignore so they are taking a hard look at it.

I'm supposed to be in touch with the rep on a regular basis so I'll pass along anything interesting that I hear in this thread.

In all, I'm not instilled with a great sense of confidence in the Thunderbolt dock at this point but I'm glad that Dell is taking the problem seriously.

@Aaron44126 , I've read in a Dell Community thread (I'll post it below) that by attaching a $28 USB hub ( http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00XU6PM68/ ) to the thunderbolt type C on the dock that it may be a temporary workaround to the USB issues on the dock. Maybe not good workaround for a large deployment of the docks at a company, but might be good workaround for individuals who are waiting for a fix.

Thanks. So far, there haven't been any USB issues since switching to the generic Microsoft USB drivers. It's only been 2 hours, so we'll see...

Does anyone have any experience with the WD15 dock? I just discovered it, now sure how I didn't realize this was a thing.

Looks like it uses straight USB-C and not Thunderbolt. If it doesn't have the same issues as the TB15 dock, I might ship them all back and purchase these instead. It looks like it has enough ports to meet our needs.

Given that it uses a real displayport connection, I can't see much down-side to it.

Looking forward for either replacement units or proper drivers. Still messed with no usb and no ethernet.

Also if they build a new, move the bloody usb-c cable to the other side!
Who ever tested and approved the current layout???

Dock has cable left, 5510 has usb-c left????

That's something I actually don't mind, I put the dock right behind the laptop, cable wraps around on the left side.

I wouldn't recommend it. At work we have the WD15 and TB15 with the Precision 5510 and had similar issues with both. They both have issues with USB devices losing connection, including the ethernet adapter, etc. Seems to be related to the ASMedia USB chip that both docks use. The TB15 is definitely the worse of the two though.
