Nvidia Quadro is not a Geforce. The performance is similar to a geforce Go 8400, but it's not the same design. Quadro is not design to play games, despite being based on the same architecture.

GoodBytes, Quadros are based on their GeForce counterpart. They can be used to play games if you load their GeForce counterpart drivers.

Gordyboyuk, are you using the right drivers? The drivers for the NVS 160M should be the same ones as for the 9300M GS.

In my past experience with Dells:

Quadro M GPU + LV2G Driver = Major monkey butt performance. My Dell stock drivers score around 400-500 points higher in a 3DMark06 benchmark.

@sgogeta4: They do not require Geforce counterpart drivers to play games, and in my experience run worse with Geforce drivers. 3DMark06 with stock drivers = 6023, a bit better than typical 9600M GTs.

go read up on how quadro drivers draw 3d models differently due to the driver then come back i dont have time to explain but basically quadro drivers have to be perfect and will draw all sides oif say a cube whether its seen or not

game drivers dont to improve performance

thats just one of the many many differences!

I also tried doing this to gain better performace in Vista.
I downloaded the appropriate modified driver from LaptopDriver2go but it still came up as a Quadro card instead of a Geforce.

I also have done this in the past with other Dell laptops and had great results.

If anyone has been able to get this working, please post how.

    ~Tom.

hey tom im the same obviously, the card has the potential if it would just use the geforce game optimisations and instructions instead of the 3d cad ones we would ge a nice boost

iv done it previously on a dell d620 and a dell d820 an made an excellent difference, well excellent considering there not the greatest of cards thats why i almost plumped for the pecision the the fx card but for some reason i like my latitudes
