Did you try the search function?

I've purchased several laptops from the outlet and never had a bad experience.

I have purchased at least eight laptops and three desktops from Dell Outlet in the last three years or so. Five of the laptops were Latitude models (mostly D830s) for my company. The other three were an Inspiron 1520 (gift for my best friend), Inspiron 1525 (gift for my niece) and the Studio 15 that I'm using right now. :)

I highly recommend Dell Outlet to anyone who wants to get the best value for their money and/or anyone on a tight budget. To date, I've had only had an issue with one of the laptops I've ordered from them (arrived with 1GB of RAM but ordered with 3GB)...and they rectified the situation in less than 48 hours! The quality and reliability has been equal or superior to brand new products from the regular Dell site.

Dell classifies systems one of three ways- Certified Refurbished, Scratch & Dent and Previously Ordered New.

Certified Refurbished models have been returned for some reason. These are NOT warranty returns or defective models, just units that were returned during the first 21-days after purchase (per Dell's Return Policy). They are fully tested, returned to factory condition and repackaged with new manuals/discs/accessories.

Scratch & Dent models are brand new, but have minor cosmetic blemishes. I've ordered several of these before and the damage has never been more than I'd cause myself in a few months of travel and heavy usage. These units must be fully functional (all features, switches, latches, etc.) or they don't sell them.

Previously Ordered New- self explanatory- literally brand new!

A lot of companies that sell refurbished units (HP, Toshiba) only warranty them for 90 days. Any system from Dell Outlet automatically comes with the same standard warranty as it would new! On most models, that's a full 1-year warranty. On most Latitude (and Precision) models, you get a 3-year warranty just like a new one! The Latitude E5400/E5500 are the only current Latitudes that don't include a 3-year warranty standard- on NEW or Outlet models.

I've ordered Dell refurb laptops before and as others have said they are a great bargain. They come with a 1 year warranty and I believe a 10 day (use to be 21 days also like the new ones) return window in case you absolutely hate it.

refurbished are usually good from dell. Most of the computers are people sending them right back after they purchased.

And some of the computers in the Outlet may have never been shipped because orders were cancelled during the production phase. There must be a few companies who aren't able to receive or pay for the order.

I purchased a D630 ATG for one of my warehouse guys about a month ago and I'm mixed on the experience. The hardware was fine, though it did ship with a few extraneous parts (such as extra bumpers, screws, etc. which had also been factory-installed), but the config that was delivered was not what I ordered.

The system as ordered was supposed to ship with Windows Vista Ultimate. Unfortunately, the system shipped with an Ultimate restore DVD, but the pre-installed version and the CoA on the bottom of the system were Vista Business, not Ultimate.

I had my assistant call them about the discrepancy and he had to go through 4 phone reps because the first 3 all claimed that, according to the line items on the invoice, my system should have come with "Vista Premium" (the line item was for the "Vista Premium" sticker on the palm rest). He finally got through to someone helpful but the most he could do was to credit my account for the difference in price between Ultimate and Business.

I'd probably not order a refurb system again because the increased hassle just wasn't worth the ~10% price savings over my normal discounts.

I've ordered numerous Outlet items over the years for clients and only once was a system not what I'd consider, "basically new."

Great way to save money and as previously stated, full warranties.
