Hybernate is not a problem with V64 and RAM > 4GB.

Interesting. From tha page Mujtaba posted:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/888575/

Does microsoft "update" their advisories or just issue new ones ?

I'm wondering if this was a bug that has since been fixed.

So, thats why I do not have hibernate tab in power option:rolleyes:
By the way, I tested Algor (a FEA software) in 32 and 64 versions on the same machine, the same model analisys in 32 took 37 minutes to solve, in 64 only 4 minutes:D

I see that advisory is from April 2008. Either it no longer applies or Dell has customized their X64 or V64 for the M6400.

5 mins ago I powered up from hibernate. See sig for config. It definitely works.

To enable the hibernation feature and the hybrid sleep feature, follow these steps:
    Click Start
    Collapse this imageExpand this image
, click All Programs, and then click Accessories.
Right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator.
    Collapse this imageExpand this image
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password or click Continue.
Type powercfg -h on, and then press ENTER.

The sleep mode uses too much power on the M6400.
I prefer hibernate with zero power needs.
