I have a Windows Mobile phone with wifi. Using a program called WMWifiRouter, I can take the cell connection, bind it with the wifi in the phone, and it will broadcast as an ad-hoc network for computers to get online. I have everything running on the phone side, and am able to find and connect to the ad-hoc network with my XP desktop. When I try to connect with my Vostro 1400 running Vista Home Basic, it won't even find the network. It doesn't show up when I refresh Connect to a network.

If I go to the Dell Wireless LAN Card Utility and go to the Site Monitor tab it will see the ad-hoc network. So I know the wireless card in my Vostro can see the network, but for some reason the Connect to a network function in Vista won't show it. Any ideas how I can connect to it? Thanks.

I figured it out. After updating the drivers, and trying everything else I could think of, I finally just uninstalled the wireless card in device manager and rebooted. It is working after the device reinstalled.
