Can anyone verify that ATI (and what version) can successfully image an SSD under win xp to an external HDD? Also, can the image be successfully restored (I plan on using a BartPE disk with the ATI/plugin)?

    Thanks,
    Harvey

I've no idea - but I've used Acronis True Image to all manner of things with no problems - restored to a raid array, a standard disk, a virtual disk on a virtual PC, a NAS drive - all with no problems at all.

At the OS and user program level, there is absolutely no difference of any kind between an SSD and a conventional hard drive: behind the controller, they both look exactly the same. So, yes, Acronis, or any other program for that matter, will work just fine for SSDs.
