    hi

is it easy to access the ram and hard drive on the dell latitude x1

is it just opening a panel like most bigger laptops?

I notice here a review that said
"The rest of the components are among the smallest and the most battery friendly available: a 1.1GHz ultra-low-voltage Pentium M processor; a big 60GB hard drive running at a slow 4,200rpm; and 512MB of 400MHz DDR memory. On the downside, none of these components is easily removable, so upgrades and component swaps will be difficult, if not impossible"

I think you answered your own question...

    Here is the service manual
    http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/latx1/en/sm/index.htm

It actually looks like they are both under the keyboard. IMO, that's an easy swap.

Lifting the keyboard and removing the hard drive could be easy enough.

One of the links in that article(Dell service manual) is how to lift the keyboard.

Lifting the keyboard on this laptop is not -that- convenient!

Talks about removing 7 screws.. (screws which of course are meant to be put back in too!)
