Ac adapter on dock and machine at the same time?

    Any negative effect?

    Doing some overclock on the gpu, where it hold fine undocked. When it is on dock, the psu shut it self down (probably overload).

    I usually put the ac directly on the machine even docked as it seem to have less chance for throttling if stressed.

    I would actually expect it to just use power from one or the other, rather than "combining" them for 480W of power. Would be interesting to try though. :p

    Not necessarily combine them but let the dock one handle all the docked stuff.

    Will see if i can get a hand on a cheaper psu.

    Are you saying if you power everything (dock included) from the 240w adapter it shuts down from the load?

    That's surprising... how much of an overclock are you talking? :D

    I ordered my dock from amazon and it came with an older 210w adapter... you can probably find one of those around (compared to the "slim" 240 that thing is huge)

    What adapter does it say is connected in the BIOS? I would say it is most likely choosing.
