huh, I don't have that clicking noise but I do have one of those hard drivers. So I get to install it from a USB drive, except it says it won't load on a x64 based system even though I downloaded that file from the x64 section on the dell support site?

i am trying to install a driver under SATA drives, it downloads, extracts but just opens the folder with files. How do i "install" the driver?

I have noticed the clicking sound as well in my 1 week old E6400 but the service tag indicates it already came downloaded with that clicking sound update.

    thanks

its not this particular firmware update but another driver listed under SATA that usually extract and start up to install but this one doesnt. I'll give it a read again to see it if applies as well to that.
