hey everyone im a new Dell E6400 ATG owner and was wandering what would be a better option for my money? I already have a 9-cell battery and was wondering should I go with another 9-cell or get the 12-cell battery for extending my run time?

    Thanks
    Adam

Do you really need more battery life?

If you do, either one would work. The 12 cell is more expensive and you cannot use a docking station with it, but the 9 cell you'd have to change batteries which means shutting down the computer.

IDK...personally I think the 9 cell makes more sense economically.

It is also worth noting that the cells in the 12-cell battery are lower capacity so it is only rated at 84 Whr which is slightly less than the 9-cell's 85 Whr.

A 9-cell swappable with a 6-cell could give up to 15 hours of run time and gives the option of using the 6-cell when you don't need extra long battery time.

Is there any way you can buy a 9 cell battery for a Dell XPS 16 from a non-Dell site such as ebay? I tried to look for one that is cheaper than the $200 Dell wants to charge you.

If someone is selling one on eBay, you can get it but do research on the seller to make sure the battery is good.

There are ebay sellers who offer genuine Dell batteries for less than Dell charges us, perhaps because they buy in bulk.
