I've ordered a vostro 1710 about a week ago. The Canadian configuration site mentions the 8600M GS. The same goes for the Canadian support site. The driver that's on there is for the GS as well.

However the "tech specs" website for the 1710 mentions the the 8600M GT and so does every international Dell website (dell.com etc.)

Do you think I'll get the 8600M GS or the GT version in my laptop? Did dell.ca just make a typo or do they actually sell the Vostro 1710 with the 8600M GS in Canada? I'm really curious as to which gpu im gonna get.

    Any thoughts on this?

Dell US says GS. Either way Im sure the difference in GS vs GT is pretty minimal. I suspect the only big difference is in synthetic benchmarks.
