    Hi All

On my M6700 I can set password protection on the individual drives in the BIOS:

I've just got a new 7740 and have put two extra M.2 drives in it (so it's got 3 including the one it came with) and there is no option to set the passwords in the BIOS:

    Any ideas?

    Thanks guys

Use BitLocker? It has turned out to be pretty easy to bypass built-in encryption/protection on many drives.

Thanks. Since posting I did some more research and decided to use Bitlocker (didn't know anything about it before), so appreciate the confirmation that it's a good plan.

Well it turned out to be easy to bypass bitlocker encryption too by booting into Windows PE

    https://thehackernews.com/2016/11/windows-bitlocker-bypass.html

It might have been fixed but what are the other bugs/bypass options let alone undisclosed backdoors being closed source?

This doesn't work during any boot to Windows 10 PE. It only works during a Windows 10 in-place upgrade from one version to the next (happens once or twice per year), if an attacker sits down in front of the system while the upgrade is in process. BitLocker is suspended during this process. (This is clearly disclosed if you kick off the upgrade manually.) You don't have to worry about this unless you are leaving your machine unattended during the upgrade...
