    Just saw this on a Dell blog. The i7-4940MX has hit the 4ghz mark. My guess is that you could get a little more than that with the Intel XTU software.

    Nice but beyond 3ghz because neglible imo even for hard core gaming unless encoding is all you do but I cant imagine it will same you much more time besides just giving you bragging rights. but I like this all the same.

    I want to see how the turbo performance works across multiple cores in the M6800. With the 4930MX, you could bump the max turbo up to 4.1ghz (if I remember correctly) for single core use. You could also slightly bump up the multicore turbo maxes. The monolithic heat sink did a good job with keeping the system cool. If the new chip is more efficient, those multicore turbo modes might be faster and stay engaged longer.

    1 more GHz would mean a decent decrease in number crunching time for me, There are plenty of reasons to want 4 GHz if you can get it, gaming just isn't one of em.
