I'm waiting for the Samsung 950 Pro 1TB. The rumors now says July/August. At first I expected Q1 2016, and I'm getting tired of waiting.

Then I bumped into the Toshiba XG3 1TB
    http://www.thessdreview.com/our-reviews/ngff-m-2/toshiba-xg3-m-2-nvme-ssd-review-1tb/

    Part number: THNSN51T02DU7

Has anyone bought or considered this drive? It seem equal to what we expect the Samsung to be. But with less fuzzy drivers.

Any other models on the market? My 5510 could really use the extra space.

Sorry if this topic seems misplaced, would simply like to have the discussion centered the Precision models.

    ----

Span says available in 14 days (don't know the company, as I'm from Denmark.)

Another German site www.rutronik24.com says 7 weeks.

Both with prices around 400€ - ex. vat
    A 950 pro 512 is about 300€ - seems ok price wise.

The Samsung PM951 is available in 1TB, but it is not widely available. You can find it on eBay for $500+. It is not as fast as the Samsung 950 Pro or Samsung SM951, but those are not yet available in 1TB.

How is the return policy on the XG3? Can you get a money back return if it ends up not working very well? I would try it if I knew I could return it if it didn't work well.

FYI, I have the OEM Samsung PM951 1tb and is excellent as a data drive. It isn't slow, pretty fast actually. But I can understand wanting fastest possible.

I need two m.2 1tb disks, one for my Precision 5510 (at least SM951 speed wise) and one for my images in a NUC Skull Canoyn (looking at Intel 540 with 560/480 mb/s).
Will be using my current 512GB PM951 for its OS, as it has two m.2 slots. I'll try and look for the 1TB version. Did it come from Dell with your new laptop?
Price wise the jump from SM, PM to Pro yells for the Pro IMO ;)

Me? Yes, mine came with the pm951 preinstalled, yes. It amazes me that the NUC can accommodate two m.2 PCIe SSDs. Technology has come so far. I still have pentium servers, but at least they aren't IDE drives.

I agree that the PM950 1tb is super deal, once it is available. Trick is getting it to work without headaches.
