I have to download and install YT every time I use ie8. YT on FF works fine. Flash player also works only on FF. I have W7 64 bit. May be connected, I recently tried high contrast option but went back to default about the time the problems started. Worked fine before. Thanx.

It sounds like your problem may be with your ie8 install. I would try uninstalling ie8 then reinstalling ie8. After which, reinstall YT. Make sure that Yahoo Toolbar is ticked under View>Toolbars in ie8.

OK I think I solved the issue. In checking add ons in tools I found the message java helper not verified. So I reinstalled Java and the YT reappeared. Thanx for your help. Possibly I did some harm in switching to high contrast and going back.
