Kind of a weird problem, I recently installed Vista Ultimate and when I'm playing my music in WMP every song gets choppy for a few seconds at the end of every song. Also, when I manually click to play another song it takes 5-10 seconds to switch to that song, saying "media changing". I see no reason at all for it to be doing this, Vista is running plenty quick and smooth everywhere else. Any help with this problem is appreciated.

Try disabling WMP from checking the internet connection and auto codec downloads.

Ok, I tried that and I also tried disconnecting my network cable and still no luck. This is really getting on my nerves. If anyone has any idea why it's doing this please let me know.

edit: btw, i have a very fast internet connection (at least t1, might be t3)

I also have that problem on Vista Ultimate, instead I just stopped using wmp and use other music players. not really a big deal for me since I never like wmp anyway, but I'd like to know how to fix it, anyone?

I actually just found a fix. Right click the speaker icon in the tray next to the clock, playback devices, click on speakers/headphones, properties, enhancements, disable all enhancements. Worked for me and didn't seem to have any negative side effects.

Ok I guess one bad thing about that fix is you can only use the graphic equalizer in WMP then. Changing the settings in my Creative SoundBlaster Audigy stuff doesn't do anything.
