    I've been playing with Textmate on OS X, and I like it pretty well. Does anything equivalent exist for Windows? How about something merely similiar?

    Textmate looks pretty sweet. Try "Textpad" for Windows!

    No reason to pay for a text editor, :p
    notepad++ is awesome, and free.

    There's also Programmer's Notepad, and ConTEXT, and a bunch more that I've forgotten about.

    I've never used Textmate, so I don't know how similar they are, but they're solid text editors.

    For a text editor what is wrong with "notepad"? For "HTML editor" I like NVU it is free.
