anyone know why upgrading from 1gb of ram to 2 gb of ram would drop the graphics from 3.0 down to 2.5 so the overall goes down from 3.0 to 2.5

Try re-running the test again? Check how much memory it allots to the video card also.

i reran and same. Not sure how to check memory allocated to video card. I just figured if i was upgrading ram it would improve the score or stay the same, not drop it.

That's normal, you'll notice your 3Dmark score will go down a bit as well, it's due to your graphics chip now having access to more hypermemory. These results prove how useless artificial benchmarks are because actual games will run more smoothly. They will not necessarily run with higher framerates, but you'll notice less slowdowns in game when moving into new areas etc.

Don't worry, more RAM is always good. The Windows Experience Rating isn't a good benchmark to go by.

You're going to get the same performance from your video card with 2 GB of RAM as you did with 1 GB.
