    windows doesnt even load anymore!

    hi everyone. Im having a really hard time with my laptop. every time I try to start it up it cant even finish installing windows. It always take me to a screen called windows startup menu. it looks like a DOS format and gives me four different ways to load windows none of which work. further everytime I trry to put in the recovery disks I burned the computer doesnt auto load them like it should so I cant run the system restore. Im at a loss. I was wondering if anyone knew the DOS code to manually load a disk {like alt+shift+d or something) or if anyone could help me to think of a different solution. thank you so much.

    it may not be booting to your recovery disk because your boot order is set to boot to the harddrive first...you need to drop into SETUP (BIOS) to change the boot order to CD/DVD as thed first boot device.

    Before you do that, the dos screen of which you speak--it has SAFE MODE, SAFEMODE with NETWORKING, SAFEMODE with COMMAND PROMPT, ENABLE VGA MODE, and START NORMALLY--I assume you tried them all?

    Did you also try LAST KNOWN GOOD CONFIGURATION?
