my mate installed windows 7 for me and brilliantly made my username 'Bellend' .

as funny as it is, i would like to change it but not sure the best way. ive seen a lot of guides of different ways to do it.

basically ive change the username and full name in one of the user panel settings wherever it was. and now the user has disappeared.

if i go through the computer i can see all the old 'Bellend' files but nothing with the name 'Steven' that i changed it too. i can still get to all the documents.

    BUT

i cant now make a new user called Steven as its already used. and disappeared lol. any one know what i need to do? thanks

You are not going to like this but the absolute best way to achieve what you want is to reinstall Windows and enter Steven when asked for your user name.

As you have discovered it is not trivial to change usernames and have it appear correct in all areas of your OS. One would think you could just create a new user and delete an old user name and all would be OK, but alas it doesn't quite work that way, sorry.
