    I have an acer 3820tg with i3-380 and HD5650

I got the notebook with home premium but i installed ultimate version insted.

my question is, does the different versions has any impact on the notebook performance? does the ultimate takes more resources than the home premium? should i stay with the home premium or theres no difference?

It would be marginal but Win 7 Ultimate does run a bit more services than Win 7 Home Premium due to the extra features such as Branchcache for instance.

However you can turn off these services if you don't have a particular need for them, try this site which I find useful on trimming down unwanted services.

    Useful > Yes.

Risky and dangerous for normal running of the system, if not fully aware of the services and what they do > ABSOLUTELY

Take extreme precaution when turning off / modifying Services. Make sure you know / understand what you're doing, else just leave them alone.

Instead, You could, for instance, turn off unwanted program' from starting during system startup. You could see the startup program in msconfig. if you aren't sure which program' are needed and which are not essential to run during start up, give us a screen shot of your msconfig startup list, and we'll tell you. :)

And by the way - I would suggest you stay with ultimate for a while, and use it as you would do normally :) It's nice and good. Try it.

    Cheers.

Just as your car will run more "economically" if there's just the driver as apposed to the driver and a passenger? Now, where did I put my slide rule?

Services make a marginal and pretty much unnoticeable impact on startup speed/RAM usage, so I'd advise against mucking around and disabling them. Since that's pretty much the only difference between HP/Ultimate, I doubt there's any difference in performance (and besides, the third-party programs you install later on have a larger impact on performance...).

There is no difference in performance. None. Nada. Nothing.
