    hi guys
i've got a serious problem when i wanna partition my labtop.
my lab top is dell xps 1530.there are following partitions in my lab top when i see them via paragon partition manager 9
    1.primay C os total 220g used 31g
    2.recovery 10g primary
    3.dell utility 117m primary
4.no label logical extended no formatted total 2.4 used 2.4g

A.when i'm trying to shrink drive c by disk management in VISTA.after shrinking there is an error which says "there is not enough space on the disks to complete the operation" i tried to change or decrease the amount of space to shrink several times but it doesn't work.why?
B.then i decided to shrink drive C by paragon partition manager 9 but it couldn't do it and says "the basic hard disk 0 (toshiba) already contains 4 primary partitions basic hard disks can contain only 4 primary partitions including extended one" in this case i can't delete my default partitions because as you know they are essential.
C.finally i tried DISKPART in command window but it shrunk by 5gb!!!! it sounds unreasonable because i have more enough space.
in your opinion how i can shrink drive C considering the above failures??
    thanks very much

I don't know anything about Paragon, but the basic issue is that you can't have more than 4 partitions per physical disk, and you already have 4. Doesn't matter what utility you use, there's still going to be that limitation.

Now, you can have more logical drives by having one or more of the partitions configured as an extended partition, but that doesn't really help you here because you've already got those 4 primary partitions in place. I'm not sure there's a way around it unless you delete and recreate one or more of the existing partitions on your drive.
