How does Vista do with older games. Can it play them at all. I am looking to play games like Homeworld 2 and Roller Coaster Tycoon 1,2, or 3. If it can, is it playable like not choppy and fluid. Thanks

I can't attest to those particular games, but Vista backwards compatibility was, in my experience, quite poor, and prompted me to switch back to XP. Games from 2004 onwards are generally OK, but I had major problems with games from 2001 to 2003. Perhaps it was because they were compatible with Windows 98 (as opposed to requiring 2000 or later as a lot of 2004+ games did), but while Vista usually would at least start a game, getting reliable performance (no glitches or crashes) from pre-2004 games is another matter. After switching to XP all my programs ran perfectly, so it certainly wasn't hardware.
