I have just bought a new laptop (acer aspire 7520) and want to create a vista cd (home premium)for rebooting as required before I get too involved with other stuff. If anyone can help that would be really appreciated. I have read a lot of the posts on the site and they are generally really helpful. Thanks for your time

You can't create vista dvd's all you can do is create recovery discs, these will restore your laptop to Acer's default states (all info is wiped from HDD). If you haven't created recovery discs yet just post back.

PS. You can buy Vista discs for probably $5 plus shipping online (remember, it's the key MS makes you pay for).

Ok what I would do is to buy or use a program like Norton Ghost v12, Acronis True Image to backup your full system once you have it the way you wont it.. By all accounts TrueImage you can use for I think 30 days before it bombs out but dont take my word on that check homepage. With the above two apps you need to install and once install make a boot disk. Both apps you can then backup to A device or media of your choice jsut follow the on screen commands.
