I suspected the DIVX Plus media player, which includes the beta web player, installed on my PC is corrupted, so I planned to uninstall it completely and reinstall it from the DIVX website. [I installed DIVX primarily for its codec to allow my VLC and Windows Media players to decode a wide variety of videos.] However, when I tried uninstalling it using from Windows control panel, the function seems to be malfunctioning in some sort of infinite loop without progress. I attached a JPG image of the uninstall process taken 30 minutes after I initiated the uninstall function and, as you can see, the uninstall window shows no progress. I have uninstalled other software many times without problems. In fact, this represents my 2nd attempt to uninstall DIVX within the past 2 hours--the first time I encountered the same problem and aborted the process after 15 minutes by rebooting the PC. Is this a fluke or is DIVX problematic to uninstall? Does the DIVX uninstall process simply require a very long period to complete? Alternatively, can I uninstall the DIVX software by deleting the DIVX program folder (C:\Program Files)?
Thanks much for reading and any advice.
