I just got a second laptop and was unable to install win 7 on a freshly formatted HD...I got the following error message and need help cos I am not too well up on advanced BIOS settings.
"Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computers hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disks controller is enabled in the computers BIOS menu".

    Hope someone can help

Did you check your BIOS to see what your boot options are? And did you make sure the BIOS was that latest update? It sounds like your cd/dvd is the main boot drive which it shouldn't be but we need to know how you have your hard drive setup as well?
