I'm running windows 7 x64 on a laptop, and when I connect to an airport by means of ethernet, my computer is unable to identify the network.

I was able to connect to our previous router (D-link) just fine, is there something I am missing here? Just updated the network drivers and no change...

Have you checked the airport with other notebooks?Have you ruled out faulty confiquration of the airport?

yea, I found I was trying to acquire a specified IP address instead of acquiring it automatically. Problem solved, new issue though. Every few hours (or minutes, it's completely random), my laptop's internet will just die. It detects the cable is plugged in but it says no internet access. This is completely arbitrary and I did not experience this with my old D-Link router

When it says "No Internet Connection", try setting static DNS addresses. Maybe OpenDNS or GoogleDNS.

    OpenDNS: 208.67.220.220 & 208.67.222.222
    GoogleDNS: 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4
